As a condition of the Spooky Walkathon 2026 agreement to permit the owner to participate in the event, the Owner hereby agrees as follows:
- The Participant’s pet’s latest anti-rabies vaccination must have been administered no earlier than May 25, 2026, meaning it must be valid and within six (6) months of the Event date. In the event that the vaccination record fails to comply with the requirements, or is found to have been altered, falsified, or fraudulently submitted, the Participant shall be automatically disqualified from the Event, regardless of whether such non-compliance, alteration, falsification, or fraud is discovered before or after the Event.
- The Participant is responsible for having personal health insurance coverage that will cover any injuries or accidents that may occur during the Event. The Event Organizer will not provide medical insurance or coverage for any Participant’s health or injury.
- The Event does not provide health insurance for pets or its owners. It is the responsibility of the Participant to ensure himself/herself and their pet is insured or covered for any medical or emergency costs that may arise during or after the Event.
- Pet Lovers Centre (PLC) shall not be responsible for any costs incurred for misbehaved animals.
- The Owner hereby releases forever discharges and waives any Claims (as defined below) against Pet Lovers Centre, its employees, partners, and affiliates (”the Released Parties”) that relate to the Owner and it’s pet participation in the event and agrees not to sue for those claims. For purposes of this agreement, “Claims” should mean any past, present, and future claims, losses, costs, expenses, liabilities, demands or causes of legal action, and costs of defense or settlement (including, without limitation, attorneys’ fees and court costs). Owner hereby agrees to indemnify and continue to indemnify the Released Parties against any Claims arising from or related to the Owner or it’s pet participation in the Event. This Agreement is binding on the Owner and Owner’s heirs and executors
Rules and Regulations
- The rules and regulations outlined for the event must be strictly adhered to. Any modifications, or changes from the established rules are not permitted. Participants should respect the integrity of the event as set forth.
- All decisions regarding the call and placement/advancement of participants made by Pet Lovers Centre’s event organizer/PLC staff are final and not subject to review by Owners.
- Pets must be at least 4 months old to register/participate in the race.
- Owners and Pets must have a complete registration form. A complete registration form includes a current vaccination record.
- For safety and security purposes, limit one (1) pet per two (2) paying human.
- No food (human or pet) or other pets are allowed on the racetrack/event area.
- All pets MUST be on a leash when on the event grounds at all times.
- Owners are required to clean up after their pets (I.e. plastic waste bags; a potty station is provided at the designated area(s).
- The Participant assumes full responsibility for any damages or injuries caused by them or their pet(s) to other participants, animals, or property. The Participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Event Organizer, volunteers, sponsors, and any associated parties from any claims or liabilities resulting from their pet’s actions.
- Vets and Medic are available during the event to monitor the health and give first aid if necessary to the participants.
- The kit is non-transferable and non-assignable and may only be used by the Participant originally registered for the Event. No substitution or transfer of the kit to another person shall be permitted. Any Participant using a different or unauthorized registration form shall not be eligible
to qualify as one (1) of the top finishers.
